Forbid is an adorable, original pair of circa 1930’s porcelain DUTCH CHILDRENbookends featuring a boy and a girl in traditional costumes! These terrific ceramic bookends feature a girl on the left and a boy on the right, each leaning on a large, red book. Each child is holding some flowers. Each bookend is marked “Made in Japan” in small lettering on the red book. The books each stand about 4 1/4 inches tall. The girl bookend still has the original felt attached to the bottom but the felt has come off the boy’s bookend. These appear to have been hand-painted. The pair is in marvelous condition with no chips that I can discern. These were probably sold as souvenirs in the Netherlands or elsewhere! Please let me know if you have any questions whatsoever.
