RARE GAL HUBBARD AUTOGRAPHED PEREZ-STEELE HALL OF FAME BASEBALL PORTRAIT.Robert Calvin Hubbard (October 31, 1900 - October 17, 1977) was an American professional football player and Major League Baseball (MLB) umpire. After playing college football at Centenary College and Geneva College, Hubbard played in the National Football League (NFL) between 1927 and 1936 for the New York Giants, Green Bay Packers and Pittsburgh Pirates, playing the bulk of his career with the Packers.[3] Hubbard is credited as being one of the inventors of the football position of linebacker.[4]These works were created for The Perez-Steele Baseball Hall of Fame Art Postcards. Some of the originals are in the homes of collectors, some are archived at the National Baseball of Fame and Museum and a few reside in offices of Major League baseball clubs. This web presentation features the 253 paintings used in the 15 published series. In addition there are over 60 portraits of inductees who were inducted after the end of the program in 2001.
