$1.10 Marsh Skullcap booklet reprint Unitrade Bk 344var This is an unannounced reprint, with a new tagging mat. Width of the overall tagging on this booklet is greater (goes more into the top and bottom margins) than before, and the tagging looks almost lacquer-like. It is very bright under a UV lamp as opposed to the weaker bars with additional ghost bars as first issued. The new tagging exists in two very different forms - very shiny and very dull. This may have been caused by two different tagging inks being used, or by the way the phosphor was cured on the stamps paper after application. The reprints were ordered by Canada Post due to problems in detecting the tagging in their automatic facer-canceller machines on the original issue booklets (with weak tagging). These booklets were available for a short period of time in various parts of the country and were not stocked by the Philatelic Centre. They have now been replaced with booklets that have a new back cover design. This lot is for the booklet shown on left in the attached photo, with the SHINY tagging bars.
