Pair of Double CandleholderswithSnail and Shell Scrolls made in the 1940s - mid1950s from Ada Clay by Frankoma Pottery Sapulpa, Oklahoma {Frankoma closed its doors in late 2004but was purchased and reopened in 2005 by Crystal Merryman .} fefefe Desert Gold Glaze fefefe Form No. 304 Approximate Dimensions: 4" (Height of taller stick) x 2 1/2" (Height of shorter stick) x5" (L) x1 7/8" (W) ca 1940-1955 fefefe This is a wonderful pair of double candleholders made by Frankoma Pottery. They have the ever-popular Desert Gold Glaze with its brown, tan, and yellow undertones from the white/yellow clay found in the Ada, Oklahoma area. Markings. Each candleholder is impressed on the bottom with the word " Frankoma " and has the mold mark " 304 ". *** In addition, each is stamped in black with the words " Dude Corral, Loveland, COL ". Condition. This pair of candleholders is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or restoration. A true conversation starter ! A desirable set for the collector of southwestern or midwestern pottery and the collector of functional Frankoma pottery. It also is a nice set for the collector of advertising memorabilia (Dude Corral, retailer in Loveland, Colorado). This would make a fine gift for the alumnus or alumna from the University of Oklahoma (where John Frank established the Ceramics Department)
