Absolutely super! AND THIS IS THE BIBLE! Not a reprint or a facsimile, this is--like Brigham Young screamed when they came over the crest of the ridge into the Salt Lake Valley--"IT!" In this 1906 Dictionary (predecessor of the Car Builder's Cyclopedia), which was published by Railroad Gazette and written by Rodney Hitt on behalf of the Master Car Builder's Association (of which he was an association member) there are at least 700 pages (the pages are numbered in sections) with probably more than 2000 drawings and photos (a drawing of every part that exists in a railroad car!) as well as definitions of everything freight, passenger, maintenance of way and caboose related. For example, in the section on passenger cars, there is a spectacular 22 pages of black and white photos and drawings of passenger equipment built for, among others, Norfolk & Western, Chicago Great Western, Chi, Rock Island & Pacific, Chicago & Alton, Lake Shore & Michigan Southern, San Pedro, Los Angeles & Salt Lake, Chicago, Burlington & Quincy, New York, Ontario & Western, Chicago, Milwaukee & St. Paul, various private cars, Pullman Sleeping Car Co. cars, New York Central, St. Joseph & Grand Island, the Plant System (even though, by this time, the Plant System was part of the Atlantic Coast Line), Brooklyn Rapid Transit Co., Interborough Rapid Transit Co., El read more
