These are two pre-war Carl Zeiss Jena PLANAR 35mm f 4.5 microscope objective lenses with iris ring, Made in Germany, as shown in the photos. One has the original black metal coating (vintage circa 1909), the other (vintage circa 1906) has been partially stripped down to the original brass. Both are marked "D.R.P. 92313" in the front and "Serie Ia Nr. 2" in the back. These are photomacrographic lenses (Lupenobjektiv) that give excellent two-dimensional depiction of flat surfaces, usually used without an ocular. RMS standard screw mount. Similar concept to Zeiss Mikrotar and Luminar, Leitz Milar and Summar, or Reichert Neupolar. THE FINE PRINT: Trimming down my collection due to a shift ofinterests.
