This is a stunning painting by the listed artist W H SAWDON . Sawdon was a Victorian landscape artist of great skill and artistic merit. This striking work depicts cattle standing in a river landscape with trees either side. The painting is executed in watercolours and given the age of this piece the colours are as bright as the day it was painted. Their is some very faint stains in the sky but they do not detract from the quality of this fine work, as you can see from the pics. The painting measures 14x10 inches and comes unframed but is mounted in its original gilt mount making it 18x14 inches and is fully signed. I would date it to circa 1900
