CAVERN CLUB Brick original Royal Life - The Beatles It was 50 years ago today (9th Feb 1961) that The Beatles played their first gig at the Cavern Club in Liverpool. Which reminded me that I had a Limited Edition Brick from the original club. http://www./news/entertainment-arts-12396322 The original Cavern Club was knocked down in 1973 April 26th 1984 was heralded as a new beginning with the opening of a new Cavern Club. Over 15,000 of the old Cavern bricks had been saved and treated. The old bricks were used to reconstruct the arches and the vaults to more or less the same dimensions as the original club. This brick is one of the original bricks that were salvaged from the original Cavern Club .i.e. the one that The Beatles played in. 5000 were sold by Royal Life in 1983. It has the original Metal Certificate of Authenticity on the Brick and is boxed. If you're the ultimate Beatles fan and love the Cavern Club this quirky collectable is just for you.
