This is an unusual set and I believe it was made for the Western market by Chadwick, CMI, Japan. The 2-1/4" bowl certainly has a Japanese shape but the cup and saucer are very Western with the exception of the geisha lithophane in the bottom of the cup. All of the pieces have brilliant, millefiori flowers over a coal black body. Large white chrysanthemum speaks to the Japanese origin. Interior of cup and bowl are white. Gold trim on rims and handle of cup. The saucer is 5-1/4" in diameter. Condition of all three pieces is just terrific.
