This auction is for a Large South Carolina Sweetgrass Basket. If your familiar with these baskets, you know they are all hand made in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina and you can purchase one along Highway 17 at a roadside stand. Their made of Sweetgrass-Palmetto-Pine Needles & Rush. This basket measures 13" x 11" and the lid has a little inside ledge for fitting. This basket is old & I believe a sewing basket. It's been used & repaired & the lid has some binding missing - the handle thats connected to each side is a little wobbly. I don't know if it was made like this or just from use- but over all this basket is in good shape for it's age. I accept Paypal-cashiers check-money order & Ins. is your choice.
