Charming Antique 18th Century Herb Drying Hook Primitive Wrought Iron Folk Art Description: Late 18th, Early 19th Century Herb Drying Hook A fine example of a late 18th, early 19th century four pointed blacksmith made New England iron hook, circa 1770-1820. Hooks such as this were crafted by period blacksmiths for use by a variety of patrons for a variety of uses. More commonly hooks of this style were hung in various barns and homes for the purpose of supporting bundles of various garden herbs for the drying process. Take a moment to Note the subtle 'pigs tail' end curl and even the original hanging loop. The hook isn't balanced to sit on a flat surface, but hung, it looks marvelous, and will certainly be a superb addition to any period home or decor. Stands 7" tall. Up for a week with no reserve and a low starting bid, thanks for visiting Foxrun-Farms!
