CHRISTINE FEILER stoneware bowl. Beautiful shape & colours. Pale blue glaze with red rings & a dark blue band towards the exterior base. Renowned for her unique ceramics and highly thought of by collectors and other potters alike, Christine’s skill is highly regarded and her work is well collected. Expertly crafted bowls (akin to Art deco), sculptural forms & vessels are beautifully decorated using precise, layered glazes and wonderfully balanced colours. She is the daughter of the world famous artist PAUL FEILER who studied at the Slade School of Art 1936-39 & who is a prominent member of the St Ives School of Art & who has pictures hanging in the major art galleries of the world. "My pots are thrown on the wheel in sections, and segments are joined together at the leather hard stage.They are formed from white stoneware clay that lends itself to delicate handling and a fine finish, thrown on wheel and the high firing fuses the colours and shape into a durable uniform whole.Bowls are decorated with underglaze colours under a transparent glaze. Coloured slips applied under a satin matt glaze. All fired at 12600C". Feiler, ChristineCeramics PERFECT condition. Hand painted monogram on base.
