A superbly detailed, antique anatomy engraving of the DEEPER MUSCLES, BLOOD - VESSELS & NERVES OF THE FACE & NECK Drawn by John Lizars F.R.S.E., the 19th century anatomist and surgeon who studied at the University of Edinburgh and who was to later become Professor of Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons. Engraved by his Brother William Lizars and published between 1822 and 1826 for " A SYSTEM OF ANATOMICAL PLATES OF THE HUMAN BODY ..." Light soiling as evident from the scan, otherwise fine condition, credited beneath the image. The original hand colouring further enhancing the image. Measuring approx. approx 17"x 10"( 430mm x 260mm) overall. ..............................
