This is a 1953 vintage publication, "Civil Defense Manual," published locally by radio station WONS dial 1410 in Hartford, CT, back cover has a sticker indicating it was distributed by "Elba's Restaurant," measures 8 1/2" x 11", black/red, 24 pages, and is complete. The publication contains information on how to prepare for an enemy atomic bomb attack, how to make a first aid kit, w to turn to for help, etc. The four center pages are advertisements for WONS with information, and photos of their radio stars: C.P. Patterson, Jack Downey, Alan Henry, Rena Oppenhiemer, Tom Moore, Fulton Lewis Jr, H.R. Baukhage, Cecil Brown, GABRIEL HEATTER, Parker Fennelly, and GUY MADISON ("Wild Bill Hickock"). T are also photos of politicians including Hartford Mayor Joseph V. Cronin, Connecticut Governor John Lodge, FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover, etc. The three scans feature the front cover, and two interior pages. Condition: Overall it is very clean: The interior pages have no damage; the front cover has a light trace of handling but no notable damage; the back cover has a small slight trace of soiling (minor.)
