An original Civil War letter including the envelope written by a soldier it looks like his name is H Warren. On the envelope it looks like it says, 11th VT Vols and has the send to address of Stowe Camaile Co Vermont. The letter is dated at the top, Dec 25th 1862 Fort Massachusetts Washington D.C., which was Christmas Day. Some of his writing is a little hard to read, I translated the best I could. The letter reads: Dear Brother I seat myself to write to you once more. I am well and I hope this letter will find you the same..........we have had a play day today for it was Crismust, the Curnal all of the Captains come out and playd with us. The first was a rassle and the next was blindfold and roll the wheelbarow and then for a jump........then for dinner and after dinner we had a run and then for throwing the ax...............Dec 27th I am still a writing I am well and all of the rest of the boys..........Thare has been lot of the Boys hear from Vermont since you was hear.....................I got a letter from A.L.
