Clevenger Reproduction of the Poland Springs Moses Water Bottle 9 3/4" height 3 1/2" diameter. No cracks. Some imperfections but bottle is quite nice and is not damaged. This bottle is cobalt blue. It is the rarest of all Moses colors produced by Clevenger. Fifth size. Figural of the Moses Spring Water Bottle originally made in 1876. The originals of this bottle were manufactured at Salem Glass Works in South Jersey. It is known that Clevenger would sometimes obtain molds from various old South Jersey Glass Houses and have them modified. It's features are identical to Moses Gin & Whiskey bottles that were produced with bottle machines after the repeal of Prohibition in the 1930's. Clevenger was the last of the old time South Jersey Glasshouses and likely the last of it's kind anyw In the 18th & 19th century, South Jersey was the center of glass manufacturing in America. T were dozens of glass factories, employing thousands of workers. At that time all glass was made by hand and the masters blowers were true craftsmen. After the invention of the automatic glass machines in the early 1900's, South Jersey glass workers were no longer needed and moved on to other employment.
