This copy includes the original flyer announcing the book and describing its contents."Thoroughly researched history of the Climax locomotives, detailing the engine's origin and construction of the Class A and Class B. The authors explain the features of a logging railroad, its development and operation and why Climaxes was so well adapted to it, the design of the Climax with extensive technical details, the history of the builder and its personnel, and other manufacturers of geared locomotives, such as Baldwin and Dunkirk (with rosters). The final section is an invaluable (although admittedly incomplete) listing of all the Climaxes built -- listed by construction number and by ownership.
