GenuineCoca Cola Collectible Christmas Sprite Boy Print "Travel Refreshed" by Haddon Sundblom 1945 Excellent/ Like New showroom condition. Executed in 1945, this Sundblom Christmas painting includes not only Santa, but Sundblom's other enduring creation the "Sprite Boy". First introduced in 1942 "Sprite Boy" was used to introduce the name "Coke" and to remind the public to use the brand names "Coke" or "Coca-Cola" when asking for their favorite soft drink. In this painting "Sprite Boy" holds the reins of Santa's reindeers, maintaining eye contact with the viewer while Santa looms over the scene drinking from a bottle of Coca-Cola creating a dreamlike effect for the viewer. After 1949 "Sprite Boy" would no longer appear with Santa. The elf like figure with the sparkling bow tie and prematurely white hair would be gradually phased out of Coca-Cola advertising, disappearing altogether by 1958. This is a wonderful piece for any collector. Would make a great Christmas Gift! All our items are kept in a smoke free and pet free facility and are handled with the best of care.
