This is an exquisite example of old Imperial cloisonné!! The curio Gold Fish is beautifully sculptured with detailed cloisonné design!! This is not the cheap body under the cloisonne like found in the newer cloisonne - it is Bronze !! The Gold Fish is absolutely priceless and workmanship wonderfully Imperial. Fantasic Imperial workmanship with fine deep cloisons and meticulously executed with real Gold Gilt!! This item was made in the mid 1900's - when Cloisonné art was perfected and the workmanship unreal. It was older when taken out of China in the 1980s and has been stored safely in my warehouse since that time. It has never been used and is in absolutely mint condition. The defined artwork, rich colors, materials, and the old process are characteristics of Imperial Cloisonné. Imperial Cloisonne, unlike other cloisonne is all Hand-made!! Each is an individual item of art and no two alike. The secrets of color and application, the Master's artisans, and the finest materials belonged exclusively to Imperial. The masters of Imperial Cloisonné produced the finest detailed and skilled cloisonné and enamelware. Imperial Cloisonné is no longer. The old Masters are disappearing as lesser quality items are being made with modern technology for inexpensive export, and antique copies to meet the craze for replicas. For the connoisseurs
