Wooden box or crate, really nice clean condition. Lettering says 6lb Tins Genuine Colmans Mustard Bull's Head By appointment to the King. Same design on rear facing sides as those visible in picture. Looks like the sort of thing you could find in Scott's Hut in the Antarctic. 12 3/4" long, 6 9/16" wide, 5 7/8" deep. 32.3 x 16.6 x 14.8cm. Further to the description before, I have just discovered some signs of woodworm damage in two diagonally opposed corners of the base viewed from the inside and two small pin holes in the base viewed from the outside. In old bare timber this is not actually that unusual. I have now treated the entire item with clear wood preserver, which leaves no visible change when dry yet is very effective at halting and preventing all types of degradation from insect and fungal sources. I have informed the current high bidder directly, and offered to cancel the bid if requested. I apologise for not finding this sooner, it is not very obvious, which is how it was missed until now. If you have any concerns about this development please contact me if you need more information. I will contact any winning bidder about this to ensure they are aware of it and have not bid on the basis of the unmodified description.
