Nine consecutive Des Moines Registers and Des Moines Tribunes published during a strike from March 26 to March 30, 1945. The format of the paper is as it always is, but the actual text of the stories looks like it was done on a typewriter instead of the usual print. See 2nd photo for a close-up view. The Register was the morning paper and the Tribune the evening paper. So this series covers all five days of the strike. These papers are in excellent, never-opened condition. Condition ranges from excellent to near mint. They may be unique in that condition. The headlines and maps are wonderful as the war goes into its last months. I am putting a fairly low start price on this lot as I just want to find a good home for them. Start price is only $37.00, which would be a very fair price for ordinary papers like these in this condition. Shipping is $4.00 to the U.S. If you buy more than one lot, you pay shipping only once. Thank you for looking.
