Up for auction is a blue transfer gravy boat with under plate made by W. T. Copeland, Spode Works, Stoke, England. The pattern is "SPODE'S ITALIAN". The pattern is marked in blue on the reverse side of both pieces. Both pieces have a blue transfer decoration of castle ruins with trees and rivers. The under plate has a floral boarder. The interior fim of the boat has a floral decoration also. The floral decoration continues down the back side of the handle. Both pieces are in very good condition with no chips or cracks.T is some minor crazing on both the interior and exterior surfaces. The under plate measures 6 5/8" wide by 4 5/8" long. The boat measures about 7 1/4" spout to handle and is about 3 " tall at the spout. Both pieces are marked under glaze in blue " Copland, Spode's Italian, England". The under plate has the word "Copland" empressed as well. Successful bidder to pay shipping based on 2 lbs. from Zip Code 06001, insurance will be additional.
