Alps/CragstanBarney Bear the Drummer BoyTin Toy You are bidding on Barney Bear The Drummer Boy, manufactured by Alps in Japan in the 1950s, and imported by Cragstan. It is a battery operated, remote control toy, made of mostly tin with plastic support parts. Barney Bear is 10" tall (25cm) with a drum attached to his body, and drum sticks in each hand. His frame is tin. He is wearing red striped overalls, and large red tin litho shoes with wheels. You gotta love those shoes!!! This vintage toy is in good, played-with condition. When tested, his right eye lit up, but t was no movement. Battery compatment is clean. Perhaps a small repair will get Barney Bear drumming again. Original box is in poor condition, showing its age of more than 50 years. It has a lot of rips and wear. Box is marked with Alps trademark, "Japan", and "A Cragstan Toy". Barney Bear The Drummer Boy is in very good cosmetic condition, with no visible rust or scratches on the tin litho parts, and no rips or stains on fur or clothing. He will display well.
