This is a one-of-a-kind & unique Pyx for a SPECIAL PERSON! You are bidding on a pyx created by Peru âe(tm)s finest silversmith, Juan Cardenas. Juan is considered a National Treasure in Peru , and for 5 generations of silversmiths, his family has had their workshop in the historic San Blass neighborhood of Cuzco , Peru . His work is currently on display in a National Institute of Culture Museum Exhibit in Lima . Juanâe(tm)s specialty is silver religious art, and the pyx below is his latest creation; it was commissioned by Berta (THE church-woman), to benefit the Carmelite Convent of Cuzco, Peru. It is made of (.950) sterling silver, and is typical of the work he has been commissioned to do on several occasions for newly appointed Bishops and Cardinals of the Catholic Church. The techniques and tools used by Juan and his apprentices have not changed in 5 generations. The pyx has a diameter of 1.75 inches and is .75 inches deep.
