Handmade Oyster shucking knife inspired by the ones that recently appeared in Garden & Gun Magazine and Fox & Friends that sell for as much as $300 . Some have a waiting list of many months. Get this one before oyster season is over.I am an accomplished woodworker that thought I would try my hand at making a shucker. I made two for this years Low Country Oyster Roast @ Boone Farm located outside Charleston, SC. See my picture enjoying some oysters. My wife and I had a great time and we highly recommend attending next years event. After receiving rave reviews ,I decided to make some available in limited quantities. The shucker shown is unused and ready to be shipped to you. The 440c stainless steel sweeping flared blade works great for steamed oysters with a slight opening and makes easy work of prying apart the rear hinge on the closed-shut oysters. As the tip is turned to pry open the oyster, the generous blade width spreads the shells wide, away from fingers.I made the handle from premium grade Brazilian Bloodwood with the front bolster made from camel bone. White and Green liners give contrast to the wood and blade. A super glossy automotive clear coat finish is applied to protect the wood from the harsh environment of sharp shells and salt water.
