Up for auction is this wonderful Proto 2000 Rock Island E8 passenger unit, custom painted in the 1960's "Modified Rocket" scheme. The road number is 652. Lower headlight and number boards are illuminated, upper headlight is a dummy twin beam headlight with the top headlight white and the lower one red. I've added a Soundtraxx 1st generation EMD sound decoder which also drives the locomotive, either in DCC mode or it is programmed to also operate on DC systems (but without the sound). Thanks for looking, good luck bidding, and please ask questions before bidding. Note added: I will supply a speaker with this model. It has wire leads from the rear door, and the speaker will need to be installed in a dummy unit or, as I have done, in a baggage express car. You may also be able to find room for a small speaker inside this A unit, but I usually choose not to, as it's easier to connect the speaker wires to a separate car.
