CUSTOM WEATD HO SCALE FREIGHT CAR by RAILISTIC! THE "GRIFF SR." HO SCALE TRAIN LINE of GRIFF's GRIME SHOP CUSTOM WEATD 50' RS SPD NYC/CSXT BOX CAR NEW YORK CENTRAL - LINEAGE EX. PENN CENTRAL NYC # 166634 " A CSX STEPCHILD FOR SURE " This custom weatd NEW YORK CENTRAL RR Co. box car was produced by Roundhouse/DMC as a shiny brown undecorated kit . Yes All the detail from a Roundhouse kit - now brought to life with some custom distressing, weathering and brought up to RTR Standards !! You will never find this car in your Local Hobby Shop as it is a one of a kind creation from the RAILISTIC SHOP. If you have followed the RAILISTIC listings over the past year you know I just love to model Short Line, Fallin Flags and Leasing Company Railroads as opposed to the Major Carriers but from time to time I do model cars belonging to the Big Boys. I chose this car because of the interesting lineage it had. First it was a Penn Central unit then it became a New York Central and is now owned and operated by CSX Transportation. Even with all the changes of ownership this car has been able to maintain it's original PC green paint scheme. The theme for this box car came from the prototype PC # 216844 as seen @ rrpicturesarchives. The car was photographed in Stanley Ohio on 12/16/2004. T is a note on the photo that the car had recently been through the CSX paint shop. All of the patching and graphics on this model are located exactly like they are on the prototype. Although one side of this car very closely resembles the prototype the other side of the car is freelanced with my interpretation of what I assume it looks like. This is due to the fact that I only had access to a picture of one side of the car. Because the one side is freelanced I always choose to vary the reporting mark numbers because if you want to get technical it is not an absolute replica of car # 216844. This NYC box car would be right at home in any modern freight unit. This car would most certainly add a touch of realism to any line of freight cars running your pike. This car was done in that easily recognizable RAILISTIC SHOP STYLE and would make a great addition to your roster. The car has been rail tested and will provide trouble free operation on your pike for years to come. Other then the fact that this car started off as a shiny brown undecorated plastic Roundhouse Boxcar I will not bore you on how I did the multiple steps to create this car. I prefer to allow the attached photographs do all the talking. I am a firm believer that a picture paints a thousand words so why listen to me. As you are aware from my previous works, I love the most dirty, nasty rolling hunks of junk out t I find them the most interesting and the most fun to replicate. We all can run clean cars from the box - but it is the eye sores that draw attention to your yard or train running on your pike.
