Fine condition original Czech VZ 24 Mauser bayonet that was captured and reissued by the Germans during WWII, who modified it by “clipping” or removing the muzzle ring. Bayonet is marked with CSZ Czech proof on the blade along with a 1926 acceptance date. Also has an unusual “8086X1” marking. Blade retains nearly all of the original blue metal finish showing very little wear. Remaining metal finish is also nice original blue. Wood grips have original finish and a good tight fit with a few normal handling marks, lock button functions fine. Bayonet has a Czech unit marking on the pommel- “2 A 2205”. Fitted in correct original all steel scabbard that is marked on the frog stud with a Czech 1926 acceptance date. Scabbard has nice original blue metal finish with a little bit of brown, no dents. A scarce secondary issue WWII German bayonet that will make a great addition to your collection.
