This was made about 50 years ago.*KO-OMOTE* The mask of "KO-OMOTE" represents young woman.It is the youngest woman mask in the woman mask of Noh mask. "KO" means being pretty, being young and being beautiful. And, "OMOTE" means a face. This is the youngest woman's mask. The eyes, nose and mouth are placed a little closer to the center,and it has a high browed forehead and plump cheeks and chin.This is a characteristic of a little girl successfully used to create the ideal image of an innocent maiden. *Noh*Noh originated in the art of dengaku(ritual field music and dance) and sarugaku(mimic plays) in the Kamakura era; which developed as music plays incorporating beautiful music and dances in the Muromachi era.This is the very good noh mask which a specialist made.Please purchase it at this opportunity, and please add this to your Japanese collection.
