Beautiful, Highly Collectible Reproduction Dan Patch Print ! A little history: Dan Patch was a world-famous Standardbred harness racehorse trotter. During his three year career (1900-1902), he established a world pacing record of a 1:55 ¼ mile that lasted for an astonishing 33 years. In fact, he paced a mile in 2 minutes or less on 30 occasions – a record that lasted for 60 years. Never losing a race, Dan Patch became a legend in the racing world and is still a hot collectible today. This reproduction of a vintage print shows the beloved horse in harness with driver. His barn, nick-named the “Taj Mahal”, is in the background with the words “International Stock Food Farm” on the roof. His owner, M.W. Savage of Minneapolis, Minnesota also owned International Stock Food and truly cherished his champion pacer. Indeed, Dan Patch died on July 11, 1916, and was followed the very next day by Savage. The Print: This print is a modern reproduction of a promotional poster put out by International Stock Foods. The bottom reads “Dan Patch – Champion Harness Horse of the World.” Would be a beautiful piece for living room, dining room, library, study, office, bar, pool or billiard room, gameroom, game room, stable, or tack room!!
