This is an original page from the graphic novel "Dark Crystal: Creation Myths" Volume I published by Archaia Entertainment. Dark Crystal Vol I is an original graphic novel by Brian Froud (concept), Brian Holguin (writer), Alex Sheikman (artist), and Lizzy John (color), telling the story that takes place before the classic 1982 Jim Henson film. This is page #9 and it features young Aughra (before she lost her eye) interacting with flora and wildlife of her home, planet Thera. Lots of weird little flowers and animals that were inspired by Froud's designs. This is the original, fully penciled piece of artwork that was later scanned and digitally colored to produce the final printed page featured in the graphic novel. The original is in great condition and is 8.5 x 11.75 inches. It was drawn 1-to-1 (meaning it was printed the same size it was drawn) Alex Sheikman was selected by both, Brian Froud and Lisa Henson, to illustrate this prequel to Dark Crystal. They were drawn to his style that combined the sensibilities of Golden Age illustrators with modern storytelling. Alex Sheikman is also the artist on "Robotika", and "Moonstruck". He has contributed artwork to "Legends of Mouse Guard", "Outlaw Territory", "Dead World", and "Marvel Comics Presents".
