If you are looking for a very early DAR 14k NS Daughters of the American Revolution 9.22.91 PATENT large official pendant/badge/brooch with its original J.E. Caldwell box, you will love this pin. Acid tested and guaranteed to be 14k. Clean shiny back is engraved Maria A. Howes and 38571. Stamped Caldwell 9.22.91 for September 22 1891. Earliest "C" hook and intact pin. No signs of restoration or cracks or wear on darker blue enamel on front. Back is clean and bright. Measures about 1 1/8" tip to tip and about 1 1/8" in diameter. Box has its original hinge and measures 3 1/4" x 2 1/4". Offwhite satin interior is soiled; exterior of box show wear/stains as is appropriate for its age since owner was NH Ashuelot Chapter Regent 100 years ago in 1911-1915. Buyer will receive some genealogical research on patriot ancestors of Maria Adelaide Holt Howes. NO INTERNATIONAL SALES. Payment is expected within 3 days of end of auction.
