David Broudo.DESCRIPTION: This stunner is a beautifully thrown bulbous vessel with a delicate flared lip. It is adorned with a gorgeous red flambe glaze and a series of subtle underlying vertical blue stripes. The lip and the interior are a nicely contrasting creamy white.The vase measures 5” at its widest and stands 4” tall. It is in excellent condition- no chips, cracks or repairs- and is signed by the potter on the unglazed bottom. Please note: Upon close inspection there are what appear to be several minute scuff marks that did not photograph.This is a no reserve auction.ABOUT JOSEPH DAVID BROUDO: Joseph Broudo was born in Balitmore, Maryland in 1920. After receiving his degree in Ceramic Art and Design from Alfred College in 1942, he went on to become the Director of the Art Program at Endicott College for nearly half a century.(He currently holds the position of Professor Emeritus at Endicott.) Over the years, Mr. Broudo worked in a variety of media including enamel, paint and ceramics.
