Deceased World War 2 Flying Tiger Ace Robert L. Scott Autographed P-40 Photograph! Robert L. Scott was the commander of the famous Flying Tigers, an American Volunteer Group of pilots formed by General Claire Chennault in the early days of World War 2. This unique group of pilots fought the Japanese over the skies of China and they were early American heroes. From July 1942 to October 1943 Scott flew 388 combat missions and shot down 13 enemy aircraft. His final total was 22 aircraft. He fought again in China in 1944 and also over Okinawa in 1945. After the war he would go on to a distinguished service career in the U.S. Air Force before he retired in 1957. Scott also wrote several books about his China experiences, the most famous is God is My Co-Pilot. Item is an 8 x 10" photograph college of Scott standing in front of his P-40 and in flight. He has boldly signed in dark ink. This is his ACTUAL autograph, not a copy. The photograph is in excellent condition. Bidders should note that the "grainy" texture of the image is due to my SCANNER, IT IS NOT PART OF THE ACTUAL PHOTO! Scott passed away in early 2006 at age 97, truly a remarkable aviation career! Bid with confidence, I am a proud member of the Universal Autograph Collector's Club or UACC (and published, see May-June 2004 of the Pen and Quill, UACC's bi-monthly publication) read more
