DESCO REBREATHER "BROWNE-LUNG" with 2 masks and weight belt, -circa 1944I displayed this unit in Santa Barbara California in 1994 at a Historical Diving Society Rally. I had the pleasure of meeting and talking with world renowned diver E.R. Cross. He began telling me stories of dives he had made with a Desco Browne lung back in the 1940's and into the early 50's. I asked if he would autograph my Desco B-Lung and so he did. This is what he wrote, (Glad to meet my old buddy, signed E.R. Cross) You can see it on one of the pictures provided. I will include with this auction an actual photo of him signing the rebreather, and a letter he sent me along with a photo of him wearing a Desco B-Lung, shortly after that show, (for prominence and authenticity.)This rebreather and weight belt have never been in water/dived, I was a dive store employee when in 1970 it arrived in a crate addressed for a Military installation. Unfortunately the (then owner) broke and threw away the crate, later in 1978 I purchased it. Then in the 1980's I located a very rare Desco triangle mask made for this rebreather and made of (blue rubber) making it extra rare. The mask had seen lots of use but complete.CONDITION; The Rebreather has never been used and in great condition.
