Vintage antique 1876 handcolored map. The map is 2 sided and either side would frame and display nicely. The map is titled Map of Wayne Counrty , with 3 superb engraved art vignettes at bottom, a railroad view, a tall ship view, and an allegorical view of justice. The map has some light staining at bottom, and a rubber stamp at rigght hand side. Has a brown fade at top area. The map shows the period towns, cities, villages, townships, named railroads and more. I see City of Detroit , Grosse Point , Grosse Isle , Ecorce , City of Wyandotte and much more. Verso is a very fine antique lithographp rint, titled residence of Thomas Berry, Esq,. Jefferson Ave, Detroit, Mich. Amazing view, in background is fine view of Detroit as well, and the Berry Brothers Glue Factory , tall ships in the water and much more. This is an antique map and not a reprint or reproduction. The handcoloring on the map is period to the map, this is before color printing. The map is from the very rare 1876 Belden Atlas of Wayne County Michigan . The map is a fascinating and historic period look at this area at this time. The photo wont show the full beauty of the original map. The map is in nice shape and would frame and display quite beautifully.The size of the map is 14.5" by 17.5".
