Reel by William Dingley made for "Bernard" also marked "Pall Mall, London". Reel is dry fly style with Ivorine knob. Size is 3 1/2" with 7/8" spool width. Has "D" stamp inside. Leaded finish nearly intact with no scratches, dings, chips or cracks, has slight line rub marks along one inside frame edge. No cuts. William Dingley was with Hardy for twenty years before operating his own shop (1891-1911). This reel dates from the 1930's, and was the reel depicted in the cover art for the book "D" is for Dingley.
