DISNEY PIRATES OF CARIBBEAN - VINTAGE 1972 MPC MODEL KIT NEW Ahoy all ye collectors of vintage piracy... Here's true treasure! This one's "Freed in the Nick of Time," a classic plastic model kit based on Disney's "Pirates of the Caribbean" theme park attraction, a vintage gem, brand new in its colorful box after 42 years with all parts still sealed in their polybags. Produced back in 1972, Freed in the Nick of Time was one of seven various Pirates kits created by MPC in celebration of the ongoing Disney legacy. All seven were fully licensed by Disney, and all had MPC's new "Zap Action" feature - a clever animation option where the figures can 'move' via rubber bands that are carefully placed inside during assembly. (Here, one stalwart skeleton tries to free his shackled mate before he's devoured by an ominous octopus.) 'Nick of Time' was one of the series' more elaborate kits - an entire diorama - featuring two skeletal Pirate figures aboard a cluttered floating raft, about to be devoured by an angry octopus. Yikes! Once assembled, the model measures approx. 7" tall x 13" wide x 6 1/2" deep on display - one of the biggest of the bunch. Beyond the dazzling diorama itself, MPC also includes a 2" Jolly Roger medallion/clip, a pirate doubloon replica, and a six-page illustrated instruction manual - all packed in a gorgeous, full-color read more
