This sculptured knife handle is a signed orginal by D.j.w. Kelsey. I am a self-taught artist and sculptor with 35 years experience in mixed mediums. All the pieces I create are one of a kind, carved with a dremel or a foredom, with dental bits and burrs. Antlers used are moose, elk or deer; generally sheds, but occasional I use purchased non-sheds. I have recently started to carve in warthog, hippo and mammoth ivory that I have purchase on ebay. I was a 911- dispatcher for years and began carving for its therapeutic value. I do custom pieces upon request so please feel free to e-mail me. I carve sculptures, knife handles and make carved jewelry. Feel free to check out my feedback. This carved knife handle of a 3D bald eagle carved on a warthog ivory tooth. This handle has a brass partiot eagle inlayed (epoxied) into the ivory, I have been told it is an army eagle but the jeweler I bought it from just said it was a vintage brass piece, I don't know. This piece has great natural patina that enhances the character of the handle. This is a signed orginal carved in November of 2006. The total length of the knife handle is about 6 1/4 inches long around the curve, approx 5 inches straight across. The end of the handle is 1 1/4 inches tall by 7/8 of an inch wide, t is a 1+ inch a hollow at the end with a good 1/8 inch of ivory all around read more
