Here is a really quite attractive DOMINION OF CANADA $1 BANKNOTE, issue dated at Ottawa, March 17, 1917. Central portrait of Princess Patricia, daughter of the then Governor General, the Duke of Connaught and Strathearn. Serial # W-415217. Pen countersignature of D. Sparksat left; engraved signature of Saunders for Minister of Finance at right. No seal under ONE, no imprints. DC-23b. PRINCESS PATRICIA of CONNAUGHT was the daughter of Governor General TRH the Duke of Connaught. Princess Patricia lent her name and assitance in raising a regiment designated Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry, designed the regiment's colors and became its Colonel-in-Chief. The issue of this note is dated March 17th, the Princess' birthday. A really nice collector grade note. NO pinholes, tears or writing. A really attractive note!
