This is an EXTREMELY BEAUTIFUL LARGE AND HEAVY example of an 8 DAY TIME AND STRIKE DUTCH ZAANDAM CLOCK in SUPERIOR 100% ALL ORIGINAL BEAUTIFUL condition. Runs great! It is a very classy UNIQUE design wall clock in need of a warm loving home. This is one of the best condition Zaandam Clocks we have ever seen in a long time,Silvered chapter ring, 8-day movement with hour and half hour strike and polished brass weights. This clock strikes on a exposed brass bell with a great room filling BEAUTIFUL sound that resonates for about 10 seconds. Superior nearly like new condition. I believe it looks like it did when it was new – no dings, scratches, no missing parts or repairs!! This clock has two neat “windows" on the side in order to watch the movement doing its work! When you walk by this clock you have to stop and stare for awhile! Has a very pleasant quiet ticking sound as it runs. The movement runs very well and keeps good time. The case is very beautiful and in perfect condition! We have placed this clock in the antique wall clock section because this is w we “hang out”– but I believe it was probably made around the 1970s or possibly a little earlier. The first ones were made in Holland in the 1700s and they have been made the same design ever since. Nothing is missing or broken. The dial is in perfect condition with perfect original heavy cast brass fancy hands! The unique brass pendulum is a man riding on a horse which can be viewed through the window in the bottom of the clock as it rides back and forth. The clock is large and heavy and measures 24 ½ inches high, 6 ½ inches deep and 11 inches wide. The weights are solid brass and are very heavy and unique. You will need a big nail in the wall to hold this one! A very unusual high quality clock in near mint condition. Looks like it was a gift and kept in a safe place all its life. All heavy cast metal and fancy wood – no plastic whatsoever. The buyer of this clock will not be disappointed. This clock will be packed very very carefully to insure a safe delivery and the buyer is to pay $28.50 for shipping, packing and ins. (very heavy and ornate – requiring lots of packing materials to insure a safe and happy delivery! Please ask questions! I will gladly answer any emails promptly.
