Up for auction is anantique E. Howard & Co., Boston, white marble wall clock. This clockwould have been a custom order for a bank or civic institution. It dates to about 1870, per the auctioneer from whom I purchased it. The marble face measures 27.5 inches square and the depth, with the face mounted, is just under 5 inches.I had the works professionally cleaned and restored. It is all original except for the reproduction pendulum, pulleys, and new cable. It keeps excellent time, as might be expected of a Howard clock. The case is original, but may have been repainted a gold-ish color quite some time ago (looks more like tan now). I have only very lightly cleaned the face and t remains some years of grime on the back. I don't have any history on the clock. It came from the estate of a collector. A small scrap of paper inside indicated that at one point it was in Ayer Village (Ayer, Massachusetts).The clock has a wonderful presence and is visually striking. I'm not a clock expert, so I will let the experts among you make the determination on its value. I would be happy to answer any questions you might have.Due to the great weight of the clock (my guess is around 100 lbs), it cannot be shipped and the winner bidder will need to pick it up personally or make other arrangements I have added a side shot photo, per the request of one
