All original early Eames Herman Miller fiberglass armshell chair in reddish orange (coral or salmon?). Chair came from a single owner residence, and it shows. Absolutely outstanding original condition. Glossy, bright, and clean. Even the original shock mounts and glides are still excellent without any signs of cracks, age, wear, or dry rot. T is some light "fade", or an area w the fibers are a little more prominent towards the back of the seat. Edges have just a hint of wear, albeit absolutely minimal. Bright and shiny zinc base has very light oxidation, some expected scuffs from use. This chair was produced after the first rope edge and huge shock mount chairs, yet before the introduction of the H base. Light impressions or "fingerprints" in the original shock mounts confirm that this chair has always resided on this original X base. T are no embossments in the translucent fiberglass, which shows prominent, heavy fiber content. This chair dates from the mid 50's.It is truly a rarity to find a shell of this age in such well preserved original condition. This is the equivelent of finding the all original, one senior owned classic auto, garage kept, with low mileage, still driving around on it's factory equipped bias ply tires.
