Item NTA418: Up for auction is a beautiful glass butter dish with lid. The pattern is Iris with Meander or Fleur-de-Lis Scrolled by Jefferson Glass Company, circa 1903. It is vaseline opalescent in color. Glows like crazy under the blacklight. Very pretty!! Remember, with this old pressed glassware, bubbles, straw marks, mold seam roughness and tiny nicks of the polished edges are common and are not considered post-production flaws. This glassware is old. In other words, these pieces are NOT perfect like glass that is made today. You will see tiny lines in the glass, these are not cracks. Edges may have small rough spots, they came out of the mold that way. This piece is in very good to excellent condition. The edges of the base has some slightly rough edges, but nothing to worry about. read more
