You are viewing a fine Native American woven grass basket. It is my belief that it has its origins in California and was made around the turn of the last century; circa 1910. It is woven with at least two different colors of grass, the darker grass creating triangular geometric designs around the exterior of the basket. The bowl is coil form and terminates in a spiral - see photos. The basket measures approximately 9 inches in diameter and is approximately 4 inches tall. It is in great condition with no breaks or unnatural holes. The basket appears to be intact with minor wear and scratching only from handling over time. The basket has developed a nice dark honey colored patina. No reserve.
