This auction is for a very rare telephone. It is a 1930 GPO Tele 162 CB. I believe that these were only made for a year or two when the GPO switched from candlestick telephones to the 162. These phones have a cast iron base a body that contains metal parts and a cradle that is very different to the normal 162 and 200 series. The handset is marked Siemens Brothers with no GPO markings. These phones were only made by Siemens as far as i am aware. The phone is in superb condition with no chips or cracks and a superb shine. The base has some light rust which i have left as found.
