I am a high school teacher who sells on eBay during the summer. (One more daughter to put through college!) As an English teacher, I am not an expert on antiques or collectibles, but I work hard to represent my items as clearly and fairly as possible and welcome questions. I do research and ask others who know more. My positive feedback rating is 100%This table, which I received from a friend of the family as a typing table when I was a teen, is, I'm told a "work table" which appears to be quite primitive. I have owned it for 40 years and know that it was passed down through the family of the woman who gave it to me. I have tried to capture the fine dove-tailing of the drawer joints and rustic look of the different sized roundish wooden pegs with which this piece is held together. I have always enjoyed knowing that it was made lovingly by hand. Each spindled leg is unique in its carving, another pleasant idiosycracy which adds to its charm. The top boards are held on by screws. I have added pictures to show more accurately how this table was put together for those of you that know more than I about work tables and their ages. I also found two or three squarish nails which I have added to my pictures.The top of the table is comprised of two separate boards which make up a rectangle 16 1/2" by 20 ".
