Formed in 1989 in the city of Most, Eduard began in a rented cellar as a manufacturer of photo etched brass model components. Following the success of their early products, the company branched off into plastic models in 1993. To the plastic modeler community at large, Eduard has become a household word in the field of photo etched parts. Eduard also produces aircraft kits that range from World War I to the present-day. Eduard's kits are acquiring a reputation as good as or better than the newer Tamiya and Hasegawa kits. The Supermarine Spitfire is a British single-seat fighter aircraft that was used by the Royal Air Force and many other Allied countries before, during and after the Second World War. The Spitfire was built in many variants, using several wing configurations, and was produced in greater numbers than any other British aircraft. It was also the only British fighter to be in continuous production throughout the war. This model kit features plastic parts by Eduard (2016 molding), six decal options, decals by Eduard, painting masks, and color photo-etched parts.
