SlavArt FOLK ART SHOP Item Romanian Women's Folk Costume from Transylvania Size Measurements taken with article laying flat... Blouse - Across Front: 30" (maximum bust 48") Blouse - Length: 25" Skirt - Waist: 40" maximum (and can be tied to any size smaller) Skirt - Length: 29" Aprons - 18" wide x 32" long Condition Good, Used Condition - some stains on blouse Description Nice four-piece adult Romanian folk costume including an embroidered blouse, matching skirt and a front and back woven apron. The blouse features purple and yellow geometric embroidery on the front and sleeves. The collar is heavily gatd and has embroidered smocking. T are a few stains on the blouse, the worst being one on each of the sleeves (one is shown in the last photo). I do not know if these will wash out as I have not tried to wash the costume since I acquired it. The sleeve cuffs have handmade crocheted lace and t is a string to tie at the collar for a good fit. The skirt is relatively simple, white with a band of pulled embroidery near the bottom with a yellowish tint. The waist is adjusted by a draw string and can be tied to provide a good fit. The aprons are made from a golden woven material and appear to be in quite good condition. This would be a wonderful costume for a folk dancer or for a cultural display.
