Wooden powder kegs have become very scarce collector’s items. This one is completely empty and marked F on the top while the bottom is marked American Powder Mills Boston around the letter A in the middle. It is bound with splits and one of them has detached and is missing a few inches. It also has a chip on the corner of one of the staves. The threaded wood plug is in fine shape as is the rest of the keg. It measures 13” high and 10” in diameter. These are now quite rare now and this one probably dates to before the civil War as it is know that American Powder Mills was using steel kegs at the time of the war. The shipping fee shown above includes a handling fee which covers shipping insurance. 11-15-14 Spl.5p Who We Are: The folks here at TANGO YANKEE have been dealing in good faith, with a flawless reputation for honesty and integrity, for over 45 years in the field of antique and modern items related to the shooting sports.
